Job summary

Circle Recruitment is seeking a Senior IT Engineer for their Colchester/Braintree area office. This hands-on role splits between 2nd/3rd line support and project delivery, with a pipeline of Intune migrations and Microsoft 365 transitions ready to go.

You will own projects end to end, including server migrations, networking upgrades and cloud deployments, while maintaining strong client communication. A full UK driving licence is essential and compensation is up to £35,000 DoE plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior support or engineering role within an MSP.
• Experience delivering technical projects end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Hyper-V, plus Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Azure.
• Good networking knowledge (firewalls, VPNs, VLANs) with image-based backup/DR and Autotask/Datto a bonus.
• A calm, customer-first approach with excellent communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle essential.
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA etc) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 2nd/3rd line support to customers via phone, email and portal, with a strong focus on first-touch resolution.
• Own projects end to end, including Intune migrations, Microsoft 365 tenant migrations and customer onboarding.
• Carry out server migrations (server to server and server to cloud), infrastructure upgrades and firewall configuration.
• Deploy and manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Azure environments alongside traditional on-premise servers and networking.
• Share knowledge with the wider team and assist with escalated issues, while maintaining accurate time recording and documentation.

Senior IT Engineer (Support & Projects) - MSP
Colchester / Braintree Area Office-Based Driving Licence Essential
Up to £35,000 DoE + Benefits

A well-established and growing MSP in North Essex is looking for an experienced, customer-focused Senior IT Engineer to join their Support & Projects team. This is a varied, hands-on role split between 2nd/3rd line support and project delivery, with a pipeline of 15 Intune migrations already lined up and ready to go. It's a great opportunity for someone who wants to own projects from scoping through to handover, not just assist on them.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Good networking knowledge (firewalls, VPNs, VLANs), with image-based backup/DR and Autotask/Datto experience a bonus.
