Hitachi Rail Limited is seeking a Senior IP Counsel to lead the protection and maximisation of our transportation technology portfolio. You will advise senior leaders on complex IP matters spanning AI, software, data, and strategic acquisitions.

You will bring extensive IP law experience, in-house exposure, and a proven ability to influence stakeholders across R&D, engineering and commercial teams. This role is based in England and offers a strong package and career growth.

Qualifications

• Vast experience in intellectual property law (in-house preferred).
• Strong expertise in IP contracts, licensing, software and digital tech projects.
• Experience supporting complex cross-border transactions and M&A.
• Solid understanding of patents, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets, designs and related rights.

Responsabilités

• Shape Hitachi Rail's global IP strategy and governance frameworks.
• Provide practical IP advice to R&D, engineering, digital, procurement, sales and innovation teams.
• Advise on IP ownership, licensing, software, data and open-source matters.
• Identify and mitigate IP risks in projects, bids and partnerships.
• Support IP provisions in technology, software, procurement, collaboration and commercial agreements.
• Assist in IP due diligence and risk assessments for M&A and restructurings.
• Manage IP disputes and coordinate with external counsel.
• Advise on emerging technologies including AI, data governance and software governance.
• Develop IP training programmes across the organisation.
