Job summary
Hitachi Rail Limited in London seeks a Senior Counsel, Cybersecurity & AI to lead global legal support for cybersecurity and AI matters. You will shape governance, provide risk-based advice, and partner with Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, Digital and Product Security teams across multiple regions.
The role is highly visible and requires translating complex legal and technical issues into practical guidance for senior leaders and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Qualified in a relevant jurisdiction with PQE.
- Experience in cybersecurity or AI incidents.
- Strong commercial judgement and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide risk-based legal advice on cybersecurity and AI globally.
- Monitor evolving cybersecurity and AI regulation across jurisdictions.
- Develop and maintain global legal strategy, governance frameworks, policies and guidance.
- Advise on material legal risks and regulatory requirements.
- Lead legal role in cybersecurity incidents and product vulnerabilities.
- Draft and negotiate cybersecurity and technology-related contractual provisions.
- Collaborate with product security, supply chain cyber risk and partners.
- Support regulatory inquiries, audits and authorities.
- Deliver training and guidance to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Manage external counsel when required.
