Job summary

Freetrade in London is seeking an experienced Senior iOS Engineer to design and deliver new features for the mobile app. You will own features end-to-end, collaborate with backend, design, product and QE teams, and help guide architecture.

The role focuses on Swift/SwiftUI, GraphQL integration with Apollo, performance, security, and delivering a robust developer experience. Hybrid work from London/Budapest offices with focus time at home.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience building production-grade mobile applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical decisions.
• Deep understanding of iOS architecture and common patterns.
• Strong experience with Swift, DI frameworks, and SwiftUI.
• Good understanding of GraphQL and integrating with backend services.
• Experience with Combine, Swift Concurrency or RxSwift.
• Familiarity with git and collaborative development practices.
• Understanding of CI and build tooling such as CircleCI.
• Experience mentoring and growing more junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of new features for the iOS app.
• Collaborate with backend, design, product and QE to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Set and uphold a high bar for code quality through hands-on development, reviews and testing.
• Resolve complex issues, address bottlenecks and reduce technical debt.
• Drive improvements in engineering standards and practices.
• Mentor and support junior engineers on design and implementation.
• Participate in a support rota to understand and resolve customer issues.
