Job summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Consultant Interventional Radiologist to join its radiology team. The role focuses on diagnostic and minimally invasive image-guided treatments with emphasis on vascular and general interventional radiology across Basingstoke and Winchester sites.

The successful candidate will contribute to interventional oncology development, clinical supervision, teaching and MDT activities, with modern angiography facilities and a commitment

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• FRCR or equivalent specialty qualification.
• CCT expected or completed within six months of interview.
• Solid background in general radiology including X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI.
• Specialist training and proficiency in vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology.
• Ability to supervise radiographers and radiology registrars and provide clinical reporting support.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Willingness to teach medical students and junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology procedures.
• Deliver peripheral vascular interventions, embolisation and venous procedures.
• Conduct image-guided drainage, biopsies and vascular access procedures.
• Develop interventional oncology including tumour ablation.
• Support diagnostic radiology with X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI interpretation.
• Supervise radiographers and registrars; contribute to MDT meetings.
• Teach students and junior medical staff; participate in service development.
