Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a Consultant Radiologist with a non-vascular interventional interest. The role combines general radiology with image-guided biopsies and drain insertions, plus duty rotas and out‑of‑hours on‑call.

Sub-specialty fellowship training is required, and full-time or part-time applications are welcomed. The post involves cross-site reporting, MDT participation, and potential joint working with neighbouring boards.

Qualifications

• Valid Certified Advanced Life Support (ALS)
• Sub-specialty training to UK consultant sub-specialist level, fellowship or equivalent experience
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• On the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR or European Community Rights) or CCT due within six months of interview
• Experience of leading a team

Responsibilities

• Carry out non-vascular interventions under fluoroscopic, ultrasound and CT guidance
• Perform biopsies of head and neck, lung, liver, omentum, retroperitoneum and soft tissue
• Insert chest and abdominal drains, e.g. cholecystectomy, nephrostomy and DJ ureteric stenting
• Contribute actively to MDT meetings
• Take part in daytime Duty Radiologist rota and on-call rota
• Complete cross-site reporting and emergency cover across four main hospital sites
