Job summary

Version 1, a leading technology and transformation partner, is seeking a Senior Interaction Designer in the UK. You will design interaction patterns, user flows, and UI behaviours for complex digital services, working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accessible, scalable solutions.

Collaborate with engineers and researchers, extend design systems including GOV.UK, and define edge cases and micro-interactions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing interactions for complex digital products in Agile environments.
• High-fidelity prototypes and interaction models using Figma.
• Design scalable, reusable patterns within design systems.
• Experience with GOV.UK Design System or similar.
• Strong accessibility knowledge (WCAG 2.2).

Responsibilities

• Design detailed interaction patterns, user flows and interface behaviours for complex services.
• Create high-fidelity prototypes to communicate interaction logic and support delivery.
• Define micro-interactions, system states, validation patterns and edge cases.
• Apply GOV.UK Design System, contributing reusable components.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure accessibility and performance.
• Ensure designs meet WCAG 2.2 and responsive principles.
• Work with researchers and UX designers to iterate based on evidence.
• Contribute to end-to-end service design across journeys and touchpoints.
• Maintain consistency across products via shared component libraries.
• Document interaction specifications to support development and handover.
