Job summary

Epping Forest District Council is seeking a seasoned Insurance & Risk Manager to oversee the Council's insurance programme, claims processes, procurement activities, and corporate risk register. The role is on a 4-week initial contract with hybrid working; on-site three days per week in Epping, Essex.

You will provide expert guidance to Members and senior officers, drive risk management, and report to governance bodies.

Qualifications

• Senior-level insurance experience in a complex organisation.
• Proven track record in leading tenders, renewals, and procurement.
• Strong knowledge of insurance programmes, claims management, corporate risk management, governance and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all insurance-related activities for the Council.
• Manage the insurance programme, renewals, tenders and procurement.
• Maintain insurance policies, claims procedures and records.
• Provide expert insurance guidance to Members and senior officers.
• Maintain and enhance the Corporate Risk Register and identify mitigations.
• Prepare reports for senior leadership and governance bodies.
• Promote best-practice risk management across departments.
