Job summary

SSE PLC seeks an experienced insurance professional to protect electricity infrastructure projects globally. You’ll assess complex property and construction risks, shape insurance solutions and support significant losses, with 50% travel to Glasgow/Perth. The role emphasizes technical depth in property loss adjusting and collaboration with brokers.

Hybrid/flexible options available; salary circa £80,000 plus performance bonus and benefits, with a focus on risk transfer for major capital projects.

Qualifications

• Strong background in property losses and insurance
• Ability to analyse coverage, causation, damage and reinstatement options
• Experience coordinating with insurers, brokers and engineers
• Understanding of property and construction insurance for large projects
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-specialists

Responsibilities

• Provide insurance input across large infrastructure projects from development to execution
• Act as technical SME and primary contact across assets portfolio
• Support underwriting and placement of large capital projects in the London market
• Assist in investigation and resolution of complex property and construction claims
• Review risk information with stakeholders to ensure governance and coverage
