Job summary

Our client, a leading insurer, is seeking a Senior Insurance Compliance Officer for Randburg in a hybrid role. You will develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs to ensure operations meet legal and regulatory requirements, advising business units on regulatory matters with strong analytical support.

The role requires regulatory knowledge (FAIS, FICA, POPIA), 5–7 years of compliance experience, and professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or related field.
• 5–7 years of compliance experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.
• Deep knowledge of FAIS, FICA, and POPIA regulatory frameworks.
• Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with influence over stakeholders.
• Experience in developing and delivering compliance training.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance framework and policies.
• Monitor regulatory changes impacting the insurance industry and assess their impact on the business.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments across departments.
• Provide expert advice to business units on regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees.
• Prepare compliance reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
• Stay abreast of industry developments and emerging compliance risks.
• Manage responses to regulatory inquiries and examinations.
