Job summary

Nashrock Insurance Recruitment has partnered with a London-based insurance business to hire a Senior Compliance Officer. You will provide practical, commercially minded compliance advice to senior stakeholders and oversee regulatory governance in a hybrid working model.

You’ll bring strong FCA knowledge, experience with CASS, and ACII or ICA qualifications, plus the ability to manage a small team and influence key business decisions in a proportionate way.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of FCA Handbook and regulatory requirements.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders with clear, commercially minded compliance guidance.
• Experience with insurance regulatory topics (CASS, governance).
• Ability to review and develop policies, procedures and controls.

Senior Compliance Officer | Insurance | London (Hybrid)

An opportunity for a Senior Compliance Officer to join an established insurance business, partnering with its Corporate and Commercial division to provide practical, commercially focused compliance advice and oversight.

This role would suit an experienced insurance compliance professional who enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders, influencing business decisions and ensuring regulatory requirements are met in a proportionate and effective way. Someone that has experience of CASS and how this is applied within an insurance business, would be highly desirable.

The Role

• Act as a trusted compliance advisor to business leaders, providing guidance on FCA regulatory requirements, governance and risk.


• Attend business and governance meetings, providing updates on regulatory developments and key compliance priorities.


• Review and develop compliance policies, procedures, systems and controls.


• Provide advice and constructive challenge on business risks, new products, processes and business initiatives.


• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.


• Build strong relationships across the business, promoting a collaborative and proactive compliance culture.


• Manage and develop one direct report.

What We’re Looking For

• Compliance experience within an insurance broker or insurer.


• Strong knowledge of the FCA Handbook, including relevant principles, rules and guidance.


• Experience building relationships with senior stakeholders and providing clear, commercially minded compliance advice.


• A good understanding of how regulation applies within the insurance industry.


• Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.


• Client Money experience, particularly CASS 5 and/or CASS 8 – this is highly desirable


• ACII or another relevant insurance qualification.


• ICA qualification, degree or equivalent professional accreditation.
