Job summary

ANS Group is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer in Manchester to support their core infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and performing optimally. Responsibilities include 3rd line support, performance monitoring, system maintenance, and vendor collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in enterprise environments, expertise with VMware, and familiarity with SAN storage technologies. Documentation skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an infrastructure engineer working in an enterprise or multi-tenant environment.
• Strong understanding of fundamental computer architecture, networking, virtualisation, storage, and operating system concepts.
• Willingness to do on call.

Responsibilities

• Act as a 3rd line escalation point for complex issues.
• Proactively monitor systems to identify performance issues.
• Ensure platform stability through patching and system maintenance.
• Support capacity planning and growth preparations.

Skills

Infrastructure engineering experience

VMware 7 and above

SAN Storage Technologies (3par, Nimble, Netapp, Dell Compellent)

Troubleshooting and Diagnostic skills

Scripting abilities in Powershell and PowerCLI

Exposure to Cisco UCS
