Job summary

Networking People (UK) seeks a Senior Infrastructure Integration Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team in Glasgow (onsite 3 days a week). Qualifications

• Strong Linux engineering experience with system configuration, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and the challenges of changing, testing and operating them safely.
• Strong Python development skills for production quality code.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and release automation.
• Experience with automated and manual testing methodologies.
• Ability to craft practical test plans, validation procedures, and deployment strategies for complex changes.
• Experience supporting large scale production environments with risk management understanding.
• Strong security principles, vulnerability remediation, secure coding, and system hardening.
• Excellent troubleshooting across OS, infra services, automation platforms, networking, and app integrations.
• Ability to work independently and drive complex issues to resolution.
• Strong communication of risks, options, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Remediate security vulnerabilities across multiple infrastructure and automation codebases.
• Design, implement, and validate secure, stable, and maintainable code changes.
• Integrate vendor, open source, and internally developed solutions into enterprise platforms.
• Develop automation using Python and related technologies.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing coverage, and release validation processes.
• Create test plans and validation procedures for security related changes.
• Use lab and preproduction environments to validate complex changes prior to production deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and application teams to assess impact and drive remediation.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, documentation, and planning activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in platform reliability, security, and engineering practices.
