Job summary

Digital Waffle in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to maintain, support and improve a large enterprise network and the Microsoft infrastructure. You'll provide 3rd line support, lead technical projects and act as a senior escalation point for complex networking and infrastructure issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' commercial experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on Cisco networking experience: Routing & Switching, MPLS, VRF, CCNA/CCNP level.
• Strong experience with Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS & DHCP, Microsoft 365, VMware administration.

Responsibilities

• Design, support and maintain enterprise Cisco network infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, MPLS and VRF technologies.
• Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments.
• Manage and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
• Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD) and Intune where required.
• Administer VMware virtual infrastructure.
• Deliver infrastructure and network projects including server upgrades, migrations and platform improvements.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for networking and infrastructure issues.
• Produce technical documentation and follow ITIL best practices.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Storage technologies (SAN/NAS).
• Backup solutions such as Veeam.
• Experience working within an ITIL environment.

The Role

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining, supporting and improving a large enterprise network alongside the wider Microsoft infrastructure environment. You'll provide 3rd line support, lead technical projects and act as a senior escalation point for complex networking and infrastructure issues.

You'll work across both BAU support and project delivery, including network upgrades, server migrations, Microsoft infrastructure improvements, VMware upgrades and technology refreshes.

• Minimum 5 years' commercial experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on Cisco networking experience, including:
