Job summary

Context Recruitment is seeking a Network Infrastructure Team Lead in Manchester. Hybrid working with 2 days in the office. The role leads a team of Network Infrastructure Engineers, designs and delivers scalable network platforms, and defines the future network roadmap.

You will work with senior technical stakeholders to drive innovation, ensure operational excellence and serve as the escalation point for complex network issues. Competitive salary £65,000–£70,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing technical infrastructure teams in enterprise networks.
• Strong background in enterprise network engineering and operations.
• Proficient in routing and switching with BGP, MPLS, EVPN, VXLAN, ISIS, HSRP/VRRP/STP.
• Experience with Cisco and/or Arista networking technologies and enterprise firewalls (Cisco ASA/FirePower, FortiGate).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Network Infrastructure Engineers.
• Define and deliver network upgrades, capacity planning and resilience initiatives.
• Own change and incident management processes and act as senior escalation point.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors and technology partners on roadmaps.

Network Infrastructure Team Lead
Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working, 2 days per week in the office)
Salary: £65,000-70,000, depending on experience.
Our client is a well-established technology-led organisation seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Team Lead to lead a team of skilled network engineers while driving the ongoing development of a large-scale, business-critical network environment.
As Network Infrastructure Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Network Infrastructure Engineers while taking ownership of the design, delivery and continuous improvement of the organisation's network platforms.
Working closely with senior technical stakeholders, you will help define the future network roadmap, drive innovation, ensure operational excellence and act as the senior technical escalation point across a complex network estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Network Infrastructure Engineers.
• Provide technical leadership across network operations and infrastructure projects.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and adoption of best practices.
• Act as an escalation point for major incidents and complex technical issues.
• Deliver infrastructure upgrades, enhancements and growth initiatives.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and technology partners.
• Ensure adherence to change management, incident management and operational processes.
• Support capacity planning, platform resilience, patching and service improvement activities.
• Contribute to strategic network architecture and future technology roadmaps.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience leading, mentoring or managing technical infrastructure teams.
• Strong background in enterprise network engineering and operations.
• Expertise across routing, switching and network technologies including:

• Experience with Cisco and/or Arista networking technologies.

• Experience delivering network infrastructure projects and operational improvements.
