Job summary

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to provide technical guidance, governance and assurance across server, hosting and platform infrastructure. Qualifications

• Experience providing technical leadership for server, hosting, storage and disaster recovery infrastructure.
• Experience with MSP governance, service improvement and incident management.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Entra ID and server infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for MCA server, hosting, storage, backup and disaster recovery infrastructure.
• Collaborate with MSP to ensure maintenance, monitoring, patching, capacity management and lifecycle planning.
• Act as a senior escalation point for infrastructure incidents, problems and service requests.
• Lead, advise and coach IT colleagues, promoting knowledge sharing and shift-left activities.
• Work with architects to translate designs into operational services.
• Support project delivery by guiding tasks and deploying new or updated infrastructure.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, partners and internal stakeholders to support service quality and continual improvement.
• Ensure infrastructure access, security controls and practices comply with policies and regulations.
