Job summary

Wintermute is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to own and optimise our mixed physical and virtual compute landscape in a hybrid London/Singapore setup. You will lead network and server infrastructure enhancements, while developing automation solutions in Python and collaborating with senior engineers.

The role demands proactive problem solving, strong Linux experience, Cisco networking, and the ability to operate across busy production environments with weekend/on-call coverage when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in systems administration, network infrastructure, or related experience.
• Solid understanding of data centre connectivity, structured cabling, and core TCP/IP networking concepts (IPv4/IPv6).
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco switches (Catalyst/Nexus).
• Experience troubleshooting server OS (Linux) and enterprise applications.
• Experience diagnosing network performance issues with Wireshark, tcpdump, or traceroute.
• Familiarity with Git workflow and scripting in Python to automate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Owns and advances server and network infrastructure across a mixed physical and virtual environment.
• Maintains, troubleshoots and optimizes networks, routing, and computing systems.
• Develops and deploys automation solutions, primarily in Python.
• Collaborates with senior engineers to scale systems and deploy infrastructure efficiently.
• Provides on-call support during maintenance windows and critical incidents.
