Job summary

General All-Purpose Plastics (Gap) Ltd in Blackburn is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement and support reliable on‑premises and cloud infrastructure across the organisation. You will lead infrastructure projects, improve system performance and security, and provide technical guidance to colleagues.

This role requires strong knowledge of cloud platforms, networking, automation and best practice, with hybrid or flexible working options and a salary up to 55K for 37.5

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure design
• Strong networking and systems administration knowledge
• Automation and scripting skills required
• Ability to lead projects and mentor peers
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities
• Experience with security, backups and DR planning

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable and highly available infrastructure across cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Administer and support servers, virtualization platforms, networks, storage, identity services and endpoint technologies.
• Manage and improve cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity and security, identifying and resolving issues.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code and automation using scripts and tools.
• Lead upgrades, migrations, integrations and technology refresh projects.
