Job summary

KDR Recruitment USA is seeking a hands-on Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a globally recognised technology-led organisation based in Manchester. You will design, build and operate scalable Linux-based infrastructure, driving automation and security across datacentre platforms.

You will work across UK and international teams, lead infrastructure projects, and mentor junior engineers while adopting modern tooling such as Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Linux administration across Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL or similar.
• Automation of infrastructure with Ansible and IaC principles.
• Hands-on datacentre and physical infrastructure experience.
• Strong networking knowledge including routing, switching, firewalls and VPNs.
• Experience supporting enterprise server and storage environments.
• Scripting in Bash and/or Python.
• Experience in virtualised infrastructure environments.
• Containerisation with Docker (and related tooling).
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis; independent ownership of technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support enterprise infrastructure platforms.
• Administer and optimise Linux-based environments.
• Drive infrastructure automation using Ansible/IaC.
• Support datacentre deployments, hardware installations and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot complex networking, server and platform issues.
• Contribute to infrastructure architecture and technical decisions.
• Maintain security, resilience and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with UK and international technical teams.
• Support AI and high-performance compute infrastructure initiatives.
