Job summary

Head Resourcing Ltd seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (DV Cleared) to lead the design, implementation and migration of a new enterprise virtualization platform in a secure policing environment, based in Newbury with some remote work options.

The role requires active DV clearance and eligibility for NPPV3 vetting, and focuses on delivering a resilient two-site Microsoft Hyper-V infrastructure and PKI implementation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and deploying Hyper-V clusters in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server, Failover Clustering, Storage Replica, and HA solutions.
• Proven experience migrating physical and virtual server estates from VMware/legacy platforms.
• Deep understanding of Microsoft PKI, Certificate Services, certificate lifecycle management, and auto-enrolment.
• Strong Active Directory, DNS, and infrastructure security knowledge.
• Experience supporting penetration testing and remediation programmes.
• Excellent technical documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a highly available two-site Microsoft Hyper-V cluster.
• Migrate ~40 servers (physical, VMware, Hyper-V) to the new platform.
• Configure clustering, failover, replication, networking, storage, quorum, and resilience services.
• Lead the design, implementation, and migration of a new enterprise virtualization platform within a secure policing environment.

Job description

Senior Infrastructure Engineer (DV Cleared) needed for our government client based in Newbury (though there is capacity for some of the work to be done remotely). This is a predominantly on-site Police-environment role and candidates must have active DV Clearance with eligibility to undergo NPPV3 vetting, if necessary.

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and migration of a new enterprise virtualisation platform within a secure policing environment. The successful consultant will be responsible for delivering a resilient two-site Microsoft Hyper-V infrastructure, migrating legacy physical and virtual server estates, implementing a Microsoft PKI solution, and supporting security remediation activities.

Key Responsibilities will include designing and implementing a highly available two-site Microsoft Hyper-V cluster, migrating approximately 40 servers (physical, VMware, and Hyper-V) to the new platform and configuring clustering, failover, replication, networking, storage, quorum, and resilience services.

Essential Requirements

• Active Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
• Willingness to undertake additional NPPV3 Police Vetting if required.
• Ability to work predominantly on-site within a secure policing environment.
• Previous experience delivering infrastructure projects within highly regulated or secure environments is highly desirable.
