Job summary

Companies House in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Database) to lead management of Oracle and MongoDB platforms across cloud and on‑prem environments, including AWS.

You will optimise performance, ensure security and resilience, manage backups, and support major technology initiatives while working across Cardiff or Edinburgh offices with flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience in database administration, performance tuning, security, backup and recovery.
• Proven ability to monitor and optimise large database environments.
• Experience supporting major technology and business change initiatives.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Database) to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. You'll play a key role in delivering, supporting, and evolving our database platforms, with a particular focus on Oracle and MongoDB technologies.

Working across cloud-based and modern database environments, including Oracle on AWS, MongoDB Atlas, PostgreSQL, and automation tools, you'll help ensure our services remain secure, resilient, and highly available. You'll be involved in database administration, performance optimisation, security, backup and recovery, monitoring, and supporting major technology and business change initiatives.
