Job summary

Giacom is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement and maintain hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure. You will lead projects, provide 3rd line support, and ensure secure, well-documented systems across Windows Server, AD, M365 and cloud platforms.

The role emphasizes collaboration with IT teams, disaster recovery planning, and mentoring junior staff in a fast-growing tech environment. Hybrid working is offered along with learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in infrastructure engineering across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, M365, Exchange).
• Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V).
• Solid understanding of networking principles (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure solutions including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
• Act as a technical lead on infrastructure projects and initiatives.
• Provide 3rd line support and act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Monitor and optimise system performance, availability, and security.
• Ensure infrastructure documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to support cross-functional projects and service delivery.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Assist in evaluating and implementing new technologies and tools.
• Support compliance with IT policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
