Role Overview:

We’re hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract to support delivery across our on-prem and cloud environments. This role is delivery-focused — it’s about getting things done, not growing into leadership. The role supports a longer-term team development plan internally. We're looking for the person we bring in to enable that development plan, not compete with it.

Key Role Objectives:

1. Execute hands-on infrastructure work across BAU and project streams
2. Deliver project outcomes with minimal oversight
3. Provide knowledge transfer and technical mentoring by example (not formal coaching)
4. Support existing infrastructure while helping us modernise and improve operational efficiency

Technical Profile:

Our ideal candidate is someone strong across the following areas:

1. Hybrid environments: Hyper-V, Windows Server, local storage
2. Networking: SonicWall firewalls (HA pair), VPN, general routing/switching fundamentals
3. Cloud: Microsoft Azure (including basic automation), Intune, Teams migrations
4. Telephony: Exposure to SIP-based systems (Avaya ideal, but not essential)
5. Scripting: PowerShell — ideally someone who documents their work and can tidy or refactor existing scripts

Bonus: Any experience with transitions (on-prem to cloud), modernising infra, or cleanup/consolidation work.
