Senior Infrastructure Engineer - SharePoint

Location: Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Nottingham, Oldham, Swansea

Salary: Up to A£57,400 per annum

The Role

DVSA plays a crucial role in maintaining safety standards on the roads, conducting tests, and overseeing vehicle-related matters in the UK.

The Digital Workspace team designs, builds, and supports the core devices and software used by colleagues across the country. They deliver highly automated, fully cloud-managed Microsoft and Apple solutions, with a strong focus on Digital Employee Experience, continuous improvement, appropriate security, and sustainability. To achieve this, they leverage SharePoint as a central platform for collaboration, document management, and intranet services. Additionally, they integrate Microsoft Teams for communication and teamwork, and OneDrive for secure, cloud-based file storage and sharing.

They are looking for a SharePoint expert working in the Digital Workplace space, who can configure, deploy, and manage SharePoint online, OneDrive, and Teams workloads that focus on efficient and effective collaboration. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

1. Drive improvements to deliver new and updated core infrastructure services, according to business and user needs, based on clear evidence, to ensure maximum value is achieved from services
2. Maintain an oversight of the evolving infrastructure landscape by monitoring publications and releases, and attendance in external steering groups and supplier events.
3. Maintenance of core infrastructure services through:

• Identifying problems through analysis and proactively supporting resolution including documenting causes and remedies.
• Identifying and implementing functional, performance and quality improvements to the core infrastructure estate.
