Your new role

You will support, develop and maintain the IT infrastructure, working closely with the whole organisation, playing a key role in the technical delivery of IT infrastructure. Part of the role will include supervising and monitoring engineers within the team. My client is looking for a strong generalist with a background in networking, managing servers, and security. The team provides critical support to the organisation as well as implementing preventative measures and identifying vulnerabilities.

What you'll need to succeed

• Ownership of problems and proactive resolution of technical issues to meet business requirements.
• Ability to manage transitions and deliver technology solutions.
• Develop comprehensive understanding of business plans and relate this knowledge to operational and IT initiatives.
• Propose relevant IT responses to changing business and project risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — including explaining concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong negotiation skills to facilitate commitment to change and service improvements.
• High initiative, dependability, and ability to work independently.
• Supplier management and governance experience.
• ITIL qualification and experience with Change, Incident, and Release Management.
• Awareness of Security Standards – NIST, Cyber Essentials.
• Strong investigative, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate into actions and solutions.
• Experience working in a 24/7 environment.
• Knowledge of Firewall Security, Endpoint Protection solutions, backup systems, Windows/Unix environments, Cloud platforms, Microsoft Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 platform.
