Job summary

Westfield Secondary School is seeking a Grade 9 Information Systems Specialist to lead the Applications Team, govern enterprise systems, and deliver secure, resilient digital services aligned with transformation priorities.

You will manage, design and implement critical application changes, coordinate incidents, and engage with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure value for money and continuous improvement across more than 300 business systems supporting Council services.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of enterprise applications, databases, integrations, scripting, cloud services and information security.
• Ability to analyse complex problems, assess risks and make sound decisions.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and service improvement for critical services.
• Leadership to support and develop colleagues while engaging stakeholders.
• Experience with ITIL service management, governance, project delivery and supplier management.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and using technology to support Council services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Applications Team, allocating resources and deputising for the Applications Manager.
• Provide senior technical support and coordinate major incidents across a large, complex application estate.
• Ensure critical services are secure, resilient, compliant and well governed.
• Design and deliver new systems, upgrades, integrations, automation and cloud-based solutions.
• Govern technical change through CAB, Technical Design Authority and service reviews.
• Balance operational support, major incidents, project delivery and supplier management to deliver value.
