Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking an Information Systems Specialist to design, develop, configure and support critical applications used to deliver Council services. You will translate requirements into effective system solutions, including workflows, forms, integrations and access controls.

This senior role involves independent judgement in resolving incidents, implementing upgrades, protecting data, and ensuring secure, reliable systems while guiding a team of Information Systems Officers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure and support complex applications used to deliver essential Council services.
• Translate service, legislative and operational requirements into effective system solutions (workflows, forms, integrations, reports, access controls).
• Supervise Information Systems Officers and allocate/quality-assure work; act as escalation point for complex issues.
• Lead upgrades and system changes, protect sensitive information and ensure systems are secure and reliable.
