Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Principal Information Architect (Executive Director) to lead the development and adoption of cloud-based metadata and information architecture across a large, complex environment. You will build metamodels, vocabularies, mappings, and DSLs to make metadata actionable within software engineering workflows.

You will prototype tooling, ensure semantic consistency, provenance, and governance, and partner with stakeholders to drive standards and adoption.

Qualifications

• Create logical and physical data models and express them clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Use UML modeling tools (e.g. MagicDraw, PowerDesigner, or Eclipse-based tooling)
• Apply metamodel concepts (e.g. UML and MOF) to structure and govern modeling approaches
• Work with controlled vocabularies and metadata standards to drive consistency and reuse
• Produce and interpret mappings and lineage to explain how data is related, moved, and transformed
• Translate between models and their representation in programming and schema languages; build or maintain DSLs
• Proficiency in one or more languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or C++ with tooling components
• Prototype solutions independently and navigate ambiguous design problems
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate and review requirements
• Demonstrate metadata/language architecture for AI-enabled solutions with provenance and security considerations

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the metamodel to support current and emerging business needs
• Create and evolve metadata assets including vocabulary, mapping, lineage, and data content descriptions
• Build and maintain mappings between metadata and software engineering assets
• Design and maintain domain-specific languages representing metadata and their structures
• Prototype and maintain tooling that captures, transforms, and reports metadata
• Engage with stakeholders to communicate information architecture vision and standards
• Architect metadata foundations enabling AI capabilities with provenance and interoperability
• Establish reuse-first, metadata-driven engineering patterns and governance for AI-enabled platforms
