Job Advert: Senior Information Analyst

Location: Flexible / Hybrid

Contract Type: Permanent, G10 pro-rata

Hours: Part-Time (0.8 FTE)

Service Area: Performance Team

The Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership is responsible for making sure children and adults are kept safe in the borough. DSPP work across all agencies as partners to work together to improve local safeguarding arrangements and to ensure all agencies work together to protect Dudley’s most vulnerable people.

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Information Analyst to provide statistical analysis support to Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership.

What we are looking for in the post holder will be the ability to:

  • Liaise closely with senior officers and data leads across other agencies, departments, and teams who work in partnership to protect vulnerable children and adults at risk.
  • Provide a high quality, professional support to enable improved outcomes for children, families and adults.
  • Develop and maintain partnership dashboards to inform appropriate safeguarding intervention and monitoring and improve the quality of data recording through ongoing communication and building strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Produce, manage and maintain detailed children and adults’ performance information and respond to any ad hoc requirements or requests
  • Provide data intelligence and assistance to partners as well as any of the DSPP subgroups in the interpretation of data.
  • Process, validate and complete complex data reporting
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of available digital tools that can be used to support the partnership to better interpret data information in relation to Children and Adult Safeguarding.
  • Interpret statutory guidance and communication of changes to data collections for the partnership to ensure changes in data capture are implemented and reported correctly
  • Undertake analysis of data with intelligent interpretation to assist the safeguarding partnership to better understand the local area profile including high risk areas for attention.
  • Investigate trends arising from the data and provide a positive challenge in terms of questions arising from the data
  • Undertake comprehensive and complex cross referencing of data sources to test out hypothesis linked to Safeguarding performance
  • Manage the development and provision of statistical and research information to enable the safeguarding partnership to deliver on any planned improvement activities and allocate resources effectively.
  • Deliver presentations of data to all levels of the partnership structures.
Knowledge & Experience

Candidates must have knowledge and experience in the following areas of business and will be required to provide evidence of this:

  • Extensive knowledge of using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL and use SQL Server Management Studio (SMSS) at an advanced level.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies within the context of children and adult social care
  • Knowledge and relevant experience of data analytical processes and business intelligence
  • Experience of analysing situations and developing creative solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrable experience of managing deadlines and sometimes conflicting demands on time and confident to be able to influence and support others in meeting requirements
  • Confident in being able to work on own initiative whilst ensuring data is used effectively to achieve the partnership aims and an accurate picture of Dudley’s safeguarding needs is established.

The role is formally placed within Adult Social Care but will also work closely with the DSPP Business Unit and across Children’s Social Care.
