Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Infection Prevention and Control professional to contribute to an advanced IPC service across the trust. The role focuses on expert clinical advice, leadership, and continuous improvement in patient safety and care in infection prevention and control.

You will provide ward-based IPC services, work across sites, support outbreak management and collaborate with microbiology, antimicrobial stewardship and clinical services to reduce infection

Aufgaben

• Build on IPCT standards by driving continuous improvement in practice and safety.
• Reduce risk and increase safety for staff and patients regarding infection prevention and control.
• Provide ward-based IPC service with daily ward rounds and liaison across staff levels.
• Offer specialist advice on isolation facilities and outbreak control per IP policies.
• Lead patient investigations under PSIRF, write reports and disseminate learning.
• Contribute to assurance reports, dashboards and governance papers for committees and external stakeholders.
• Provide multi-professional advisory support to improve services within and outside the Trust.
• Act as IPC advisor and role model; provide evidence-based guidance and policy alignment.
• Lead, mentor and line-manage junior IPCN colleagues; support peers within the team.
• Support service SLAs including for privately funded hospitals and collaborate with microbiology/AMR teams.
• Challenge non-compliant practice and drive sustainable infection risk improvements.
• Contribute to outbreak response and emergency preparedness as required.
