Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is recruiting for a Senior Infection Prevention & Control Nurse to provide expert leadership and guidance across multiple sites including Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

The role supports the Lead IPC Nurse, leads IPC activities, and drives continuous improvement in infection prevention and control practices across NHSGGC. A broad IPC background and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control, or actively pursuing it.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist infection prevention and control advice across clinical and non-clinical settings.
• Support Lead IPC Nurse in delivery and development of the sector IPC service.
• Provide leadership, supervision and clinical support to IPC nurses within the team.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of IPC strategies, policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote IPC standards compliance.
• Lead and participate in audits, surveillance, investigations and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support IPC activity across NHSGGC sites as required.
