Job summary

NHS Lothian is seeking a Deputy Associate Director of Infection Prevention & Control to provide senior clinical leadership across NHS Lothian services. The post holder will shape IPC strategy and practice, supporting patient safety through the prevention and reduction of healthcare associated infection.

You will be an experienced nurse with postgraduate IPC qualifications, leading multidisciplinary teams, driving education, surveillance and incident management across acute and community

Qualifications

• First Level Registered Nurse with postgraduate IPC qualification.
• Significant experience in Infection Prevention & Control.
• Portfolio of evidence demonstrating advanced IPC knowledge and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Risk assessment and clinical management of patients with transmissible infections.
• Infection surveillance, monitoring and reporting.
• The maintenance and operation of healthcare facilities.
• Education, training and development of staff across all disciplines.
• Incident and outbreak management.
