Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) seeks a Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse to provide expert leadership across Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Beatson Cancer Centre and Glasgow Royal Infirmary. You will drive best practice, guide teams, and shape IPC strategy across multiple sites.

The role requires a registered nurse with IPC qualifications, strong leadership, and a willingness to travel across NHSGGC locations. A visa sponsorship may be available for eligible roles.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control or working towards it.
• Significant IPC experience and leadership abilities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist IPC advice across a range of clinical and non-clinical settings.
• Support Lead IPC Nurse in delivery and development of IPC services.
• Provide leadership, supervision and support to IPC Nurses.
• Contribute to IPC strategy, policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure IPC standards.
• Lead audits, surveillance programmes and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support IPC activity across NHSGGC sites as required.
