Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) invites applications from motivated doctors to join a growing infection service spanning multiple hospitals within the Trust. The post is well suited to resident doctors seeking to deepen infection and microbiology knowledge.

Qualifications

• Essential: Medical Degree
• Essential: At least 3 years postgraduate medical training
• Essential: Experience in clinical specialties with infection component
• Essential: Understanding of audit principles and active participation in audit
• Essential: Understanding of research principles with active participation in research
• Desirable: MRCP or MRCPath or MSC/Diploma in Microbiology
• Desirable: Previous experience in medical microbiology or infection specialty
• Essential: Full GMC registration or eligible for registration

Responsibilities

• To contribute to the development of a cohesive infection service across MUH/Trust hospitals.
• Engage in audit, research and continuous professional development related to infection and microbiology.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including infectious diseases, sexual and reproductive health, respiratory medicine, and infection prevention.
