Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Senior Electronic / Embedded Design Engineer in Bury, Greater Manchester. You will own electronic hardware and embedded software for industrial products from concept through to production, including UL submissions and approvals.

The role requires hands‑on development, collaboration with cross‑functional teams, and a focus on quality, safety and regulatory compliance. A senior appointment may be considered based on experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
• Significant relevant industry experience.
• Proven experience taking electronic products into production with UL involvement.
• Hardware design skills across analogue and digital circuits.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware requirements, schematics and embedded software specs.
• Be the main technical contact for UL submissions and approvals.
• Design analogue, digital and mixed‑signal circuits for industrial products.
• Create schematics, select components and develop PCB layouts.
• Develop and maintain C software for microcontroller‑based systems.
• Design power supplies and measurement circuits for industrial applications.
• Ensure electrical safety, EMC and regulatory compliance in designs.
• Produce design calculations, test plans and validation reports.
• Support production introduction and collaborate across locations.
