Job Title: Senior Indirect Tax Manager at Votre Sommelier

Role Overview

The role is within the Tax team, focusing on indirect tax compliance, governance, and controls across the global business. The purpose is to ensure effective operation of VAT compliance and reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations. The role involves process improvement, automation, and team management, working closely with the Tax Transformation Team and indirect tax advisory senior manager to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage end-to-end compliance processes, including timely reporting and payments for all indirect tax returns, liaising with outsourced providers, accounts payable, and financial accounting teams.
2. Lead and develop a small team (approx. 3 members).
3. Collaborate with senior management to set strategic direction for indirect tax functions.
4. Implement and test process and system changes to ensure VAT compliance and reporting accuracy.
5. Deliver VAT training to the finance team.
6. Contribute to process and control improvements.
7. Support compliance queries from HMRC and other authorities with data and insights.
8. Work with the Tax Transformation Team to identify and resolve data risks and issues.
9. Drive automation projects and maintain proper documentation of processes.
10. Assist external auditors with documentation.

About You

• Tax accounting qualification (ATT, ACCA, ACA) and at least 8 years of experience.
• Experience managing UK and global indirect tax compliance and accounting processes.
• Proven leadership in building and leading effective teams.
• Experience handling tax authority inquiries and audits.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Flexibility, openness to change, and proactive attitude.
