Job summary

Together in Cheadle is seeking an experienced litigation professional to join our in-house Legal Team. You will proactively manage a high-volume portfolio of litigation matters within a regulated financial services environment.

The role involves supervising junior colleagues, real-time MI and data insights, and close collaboration with Complaints, Risk, Compliance and Operations to drive efficient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience managing litigation within a financial services environment.
• Handling strategy, case management and outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Experience managing a substantial caseload of litigated matters.
• Strong drafting skills and experience preparing court documents and litigation correspondence.
• Ability to analyse legal, commercial and operational risks and provide practical recommendations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• In-house litigation experience preferred.
• Experience of mortgage litigation, possession proceedings or recoveries litigation.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of litigation matters from pre-action to final resolution.
• Progression of day-to-day litigation strategy and outcomes across matters.
• Preparing pleadings, witness statements, applications and court documents.
• Monitoring court deadlines and ensuring procedural compliance.
• Producing concise case summaries, risk assessments and recommendations.
• Supporting settlement discussions and dispute resolution strategies.
• Assisting with possession claims and enforcement of security.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders and supervising junior colleagues.
• Producing and maintaining litigation MI and trend analysis.
• Contributing to process improvements and legal technology initiatives.
