Job summary

Morson Group is recruiting for a 12 month contract role inside IR35 to support MoD submarine and warship programmes. Mostly remote with onsite attendance about 2 days per month on a nuclear licensed Devonport site.

The role supports the Design and Safety Manager, coordinating technical work packages, ensuring design documentation and quality control, and promoting a strong safety culture across engineering activities.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Chartered Engineer status with Engineering Council or pursuing it.
• Nuclear or marine systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Design and Safety Manager in delivering project scope and objectives.
• Lead and coordinate technical work packages and manage engineering resources.
• Ensure design documentation meets scope, standards, schedule and budget.
• Plan for effective project implementation and technical planning.
• Maintain Quality Management arrangements per Business Management System.
• Document processes with records and maintain configuration and quality controls.
• Support Health, Safety and Environmental considerations in design.
• Liaise with Engineering Services Technical Authority to apply good practice.
• Promote safety culture and escalate nuclear safety concerns when needed.
