Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a new full-time Consultant Clinical Scientist in Immunology. The post holder will work with the Clinical Director of Blood Sciences and Consultant Immunologist to deliver expert scientific and clinical input across the Trust and regional network.

The role combines clinical service, operational leadership, innovation and teaching within a dynamic NHS setting.

Qualifications

• FRCPath in Immunology (or within six months of attainment)
• HCPC registration mandatory
• Masters degree or equivalent in Immunology or relevant specialty
• Full fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (MRCPath/FRCPath)
• Evidence of CPD

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership to the Immunology department and participate in the clinical rota
• Offer specialist scientific and clinical advice on patient investigations and results
• Lead delivery, development and quality improvement of the diagnostic immunology service
• Initiate, evaluate and collaborate on research, development, and audits in Immunology
• Represent the department in meetings and support teaching within NHS environment
• Ensure timely clinical authorisation and reporting of test results
