Job summary

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust in Peterborough is recruiting a Senior Biomedical Scientist to lead the Immunology team. You will work closely with the Immunology Laboratory Manager, Biomedical Scientists and Consultant Immunologists to deliver high-quality, safe immunology services and to support clinical excellence.

As an IBMS registered training facility, the role offers opportunities to deepen specialist knowledge while contributing to staff education and service development.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered with MSc; IBMS HSD or FIBMS (or equivalent) is desirable.
• Experience in a routine Immunology laboratory.
• Experience supervising staff and developing services.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Immunology laboratory and ensure patient safety.
• Contribute to staff development within a progressive department.
• Support service development and practical assessments as part of the interview process.

Please note that interviews will be conducted on-site due to the practical nature of the assessments. Unfortunately, remote interviews cannot be accommodated. You will be responsible for supervising the Immunology laboratory and assist in the development of staff within a progressive department where participation in developing our service is actively encouraged. You should be HCPC registered with an appropriate MSc, IBMS HSD and/or be FIBMS (or equivalent) and well versed in the workings of a routine Immunology laboratory. You will also need to be enthusiastic and highly motivated, computer literate and familiar with working to UKAS standards. The successful candidate may need to participate in the 24/7 rota for the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory. Full training programme would be completed if required.
