Job summary

Aberdeen Group in Edinburgh seeks a Senior Identity & Full-Stack Engineer to own the customer-facing Identity Provider and IDaaS platform, and contribute to API and cloud engineering initiatives. You will design authentication and federation, build on Azure, and drive automation across digital services to improve security and user experience.

The role blends leadership with hands-on software engineering, shaping critical services and engineering standards within Digital Engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Identity Provider or Identity-as-a-Service platforms.
• Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SSO, MFA and identity security controls.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native services.
• Strong software engineering with C# .NET APIs and backend services.
• Experience with Terraform, GitHub, CI/CD automation and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Aberdeen’s customer-facing Identity Provider and IDaaS platform.
• Design and implement authentication, SSO, federation, and user lifecycle solutions.
• Build cloud-native applications and integrations on Microsoft Azure.
• Drive automation and engineering excellence through CI/CD pipelines and scripting.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis and improve resilience.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership and standards.
