Job summary

Leading built environment consultancy seeks a Principal Consultant to join its Buildings & Infrastructure practice, within a specialist ICT & Security team. You will own ICT and security design across major infrastructure projects in the UK, with mentoring and leadership opportunities as the practice grows.

Hybrid working and cross-sector exposure across defence, critical infrastructure, water and transport are offered, with a clear path toward technical leadership and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience with ICT systems for buildings and infrastructure environments.
• Strong background in telecommunications, building services or infrastructure engineering design.
• Experience in secure environments (defence or critical infrastructure).
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance (or current/previous SC).
• Strong ability to produce technical documentation — reports, specifications, design outputs.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and delivery of ICT and security across building and infrastructure projects from feasibility to handover.
• Provide oversight for secure communications and building ICT systems.
• Coordinate security solutions across complex infrastructure environments.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering and infrastructure teams.
• Mentor junior engineers, upholding quality and standards.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and design outputs.
• Support projects across defence, critical infrastructure, water and transport.
• Contribute to proposals and client briefs from a technical stance.
