Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking an MQ specialist to support and evolve our z/OS MQ environments, delivering secure, reliable messaging for critical mainframe services. You will drive automation, participate in DevOps practices, and help shape future MQ capabilities within a transformed engineering organization.

The role involves acting as the technical lead for MQ support, collaborating with infrastructure teams, and contributing to platform modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Good MQ knowledge on z/OS.
• Experience with MQ performance tuning.
• Experience troubleshooting business-critical online systems.
• Experience with Transport Layer Security (TLS).
• Interest in automation and evolving mainframe technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and support for complex MQ environments operating to demanding service levels.
• Contribute to the development of the z/OS MQ roadmap and support the evolution of our platform and engineering capabilities.
• Work closely with stakeholders and customers to support the delivery of the technology roadmap, ensuring service and customer outcomes remain at the heart of everything we do.
• Support and contribute to modern engineering practices, including automation, DevOps and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate across middleware, infrastructure and engineering teams to explore and implement innovative solutions, integrating mainframe technologies with emerging platforms and capabilities.
• Support standardisation, simplification and operational excellence while ensuring processes and controls are adhered to.
