Job summary

Black Duck is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead identity and access management platforms across multiple products. You will drive architecture, security, and scalability while mentoring teams and setting engineering standards.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in software engineering with IAM focus, hands-on experience with Auth0/Okta/Azure Entra, and deep knowledge of OAuth/OIDC/SAML. This role emphasizes collaboration, architectural leadership, and modern engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering with architecture and leadership.
• Extensive IAM/CIAM design, implementation, and operation experience.
• Hands-on with modern identity platforms (Auth0, Okta, Entra, Ping).
• Expert in OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, MFA, and federation patterns.
• Experience at scale for customer-facing SaaS identity solutions.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native apps.
• Excellent communication to influence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and evolution of enterprise identity and access management solutions.
• Serve as technical authority for authentication, authorization, federation and lifecycle.
• Design secure, scalable systems supporting multiple products and teams.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across initiatives.
• Drive engineering excellence via reviews and best-practices adoption.
• Collaborate with product, security, and operations to ensure reliability and security.
• Lead investigations, evaluate new technologies, and align with business goals.
• Improve observability, maintainability, and performance of platforms.
• Shape long-term technology strategy and engineering roadmap.
• Mentor engineers and promote AI-assisted development practices.
