SLR Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced Hydrologist to join our expanding water environment team in the UK. You will deliver technical projects, mentor junior colleagues and foster strong client relationships within a collaborative culture.

The preferred location is London, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements. The role offers exposure to diverse hydrology, flood risk and water management challenges across Built Environment and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Hydrology, Geography, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience delivering Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Drainage Strategies and water environment assessments in support of planning applications.
• Experience managing projects, programmes and budgets.
• Strong client liaison and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high technical standards.
• Experience mentoring, supporting or supervising junior team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and delivering Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Surface Water Drainage Strategies for EIAs.
• Managing small to medium-sized projects through all delivery stages, ensuring quality, programme and financial targets.
• Mentoring and developing junior team members.
• Acting as a key contact for clients, regulators and project teams.
• Liaising with regulators to agree technical approaches and scopes.
• Preparing proposals, fee submissions and supporting business development.
• Contributing to growth and technical excellence of the hydrology team.
• Collaborating with drainage, hydrogeology, geomorphology and geochemistry specialists.
