Job summary
SLR is seeking a Hydrologist to join our Flood Risk and Water Environment team in the UK, with flexible base in Manchester or other UK offices. You will deliver hydrology-focused assessments and support FRA/SFRA studies, working with a multidisciplinary team on a range of public and private sector projects.
Working alongside experienced hydrologists, you'll derive inputs, prepare technical reports and contribute to site visits and stakeholder meetings, with opportunities to develop through
Qualifications
- You will have gained some consultancy or similar commercial experience supporting hydrology, flood risk or water environment projects.
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- A commitment to working towards chartership with CIWEM, ICE or a similar professional institution.
- Experience using hydrological methods and software such as FEH, ReFH2 and WINFAP.
Responsibilities
- Undertaking hydrological assessments to support flood risk and hydraulic modelling studies.
- Deriving hydrological inputs using industry-standard methodologies and software.
- Preparing technical reports, calculations and supporting documentation.
- Supporting the development of Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Strategic Flood Risk Assessments (SFRAs).
- GIS analysis and mapping.
- Site visits, catchment walkovers and stakeholder meetings where required.
- Supporting project delivery teams on a variety of flood risk and water environment projects.
