Job summary

GE Grid Solutions is seeking a Senior HVDC Product Specialist to lead Verification & Validation for HVDC control and protection systems. You will drive test plans, ensure SMART requirements, and coordinate testing across lab, factory and site environments.

You will mentor engineers, drive process improvements, and collaborate with Grid technology groups to deliver robust validation for NPI and Project Delivery. A global, diverse team offers challenging, impactful energy transition projects.

Qualifications

Degree in Electronics / Electrical engineering or related field.
Significant experience in power generation, systems design, and operation of control systems.
Demonstrable technical leadership experience.
Experience of HVDC control systems.
Competent in HVDC control, protection and sequencing strategy.
Competent in PSCAD / MATLAB-SIMULINK and RTDS applications.
Knowledge of test driven design techniques (CI, unit testing, regression testing).
Knowledge of requirements management.
Knowledge of change control and issue tracking (e.g. CCB, Jira).
Excellent communication skills with a fluency in English language.

Responsibilities

Providing strategic and tactical direction for Verification and Validation of HVDC Control and Protection System in collaboration with Grid and HVDC technology groups.
Establishing processes to assess, review and record testing needs and boundaries for each project.
Leading the development of plans, procedures and specifications for integration, full system, factory acceptance and site commissioning tests.
Preparing Test Management Plans and Solutions and maintaining them.
Ensuring SMART, testable requirements from the outset.
Coordinating HVDC testing and validation steps from lab to site for customer acceptance.
Maintaining lifecycle overview of HVDC NTI-NPI-Project to de-risk development.
Approving technical reviews and quality gates / project milestones.
Supporting new technology IP strategy and opportunities for IP development.
Engaging with customers to define quality and testing expectations from kick-off to sign-off.
Representing GE Grid Solutions in industry working groups.
