Placements24 is seeking a Senior HVAC Technician to lead installation and maintenance projects across Randburg and the greater Gauteng region. You will supervise teams, diagnose complex HVAC issues, and ensure installations meet design specs, safety standards, and client expectations.

The role requires extensive experience with commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, VAV/AHU, and VRF, along with strong leadership and client liaison skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in commercial HVAC installation and maintenance.
• Trade qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• F-Gas certification or equivalent is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise HVAC installation projects to ensure high-quality execution.
• Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems including chillers and VRF.

About the Role Our client, a reputable provider of building services, is seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC Technician to manage and execute complex installation and maintenance projects in Randburg, Gauteng. This senior role involves leading installation teams, ensuring the highest quality workmanship, and providing expert technical guidance on a wide range of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project execution from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and client expectations. This is a hands‑on role requiring significant expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and installing advanced HVAC equipment within commercial and industrial settings across the Randburg area.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise HVAC installation projects, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
• Install, service, and repair a variety of commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and VRF systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications for HVAC installations.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot complex HVAC system issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Ensure all installations and repairs comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Conduct system commissioning and performance testing post-installation to verify functionality.
