Job summary

Hussmann is seeking an experienced HVAC/R field service technician to maintain, diagnose and repair refrigeration, heating and air‑conditioning systems in retail environments. The role involves direct customer interaction, troubleshooting, and opportunities to lead preventive maintenance programs.

Applicants should have strong mechanical aptitude, a valid driver’s license and EPA 608 Certification. This full‑time position requires the ability to work nights and weekends and to lift up to 50

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• HVAC-R technical school degree preferred.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, diagnoses and repairs refrigeration, heating and air‑conditioning systems in supermarkets, convenience stores and cold storage facilities.
• Develops first line customer relations and identifies potential sales opportunities.
• Manages truck inventory, orders, receipts, billing, and parts with minimal waste; maintains vehicle in good condition.
• Completes documents accurately and uses handheld devices for paperwork and invoicing.
• Performs installation, testing and adjustments of components (pipes, fittings, sensors, valves) and conducts refrigerant/oil conversions.
• Leads PM programs and serves as a technical resource to other technicians.
