Job summary

Mane is seeking an experienced M&E Manager for a major National Grid substation project in Melksham, Wiltshire. You will lead and coordinate all mechanical and electrical activities, ensuring safe delivery to programme and to Grid standards.

The role requires strong leadership, HV/substation experience, and the ability to manage subcontractors while maintaining high safety and quality. UK infrastructure exposure is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience leading M&E teams on major infrastructure projects.
• National Grid substations or HV environment experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and documentation.
• Experience coordinating M&E with civil and electrical construction activities.
• Strong commitment to health & safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Knowledge of RAMS, permits and safe systems of work.
• Experience managing subcontractors and specialist M&E contractors.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a live construction environment.
• Desirable: previous UK infrastructure project experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all mechanical and electrical activities across the National Grid substation project.
• Plan, supervise and monitor M&E installation activities to deliver safely and to programme.
• Coordinate M&E works with civil, electrical, commissioning and other site activities.
• Review drawings, specifications, schematics and construction documentation.
• Ensure M&E installations meet approved drawings, Grid standards and project requirements.
• Coordinate installation, testing and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Oversee subcontractors and specialist M&E contractors to required standards.
• Monitor progress, quality and workmanship across M&E activities.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers and Grid representatives.
• Attend site, coordination and progress meetings as required.
